Here’s why community workout challenges actually work.

A social media challenge implies the social aspect, but here’s how it helps. You’ll connect with like-minded people from around the world, and you get a chance to show off what you’re up to. Especially with our challenge, you’re encouraged to post a photo crushing your workout with our hashtag, meaning everyone in the challenge can cheer you on! What’s better than virtual high-fives from all around the globe? Plus, it feels good to cheer others on. Better yet, it can actually make YOU perform better, too. You not only get to have fun (which keeps you coming back) and feel good, but you end up putting yourself in that athlete’s shoes and begin to think, “If they can, I can.” Never underestimate the power of positivity and visualization. Fitness and performance are partially a mental game, after all.
Accountability
How often have you woken up intending to go to the gym or train only to think, “I don’t feel like it — I’ll just go tomorrow”? When you’ve signed up for a challenge and know that other people are showing up ready to grind, you will too. Showing up consistently is crucial for achieving your fitness goals. If you won’t show up for yourself, start by showing up for others (and with others) to keep things rolling. Sometimes that’s all it takes to make progress.
Continued Motivation
Maintaining motivation is another huge challenge for anyone — whether a beginner or a high-performance athlete. That’s what makes having a community a fantastic benefit. Look to others for inspiration. Maybe you know someone struggling but who shows up ready to perform and do the day’s workout no matter what. Maybe someone checked in on you and asked if you were showing up that day. A community workout challenge can help you maintain your motivation and keeps you moving towards those goals.
Celebrating Wins
An important part of achieving any goal is celebrating it! What’s better than celebrating alone? Celebrating with a friend or, better yet, a whole community of warriors who have been through it with you. Celebrating your wins is also a major way to keep motivated and committed to your goals, so don’t forget to share and hype yourself up for those little benchmarks hit along the way. Let’s face it… We can all be a little competitive sometimes. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing! A community workout challenge is a great way to thrive on a bit of friendly competition. If you see someone crushing out the workouts first thing in the morning, maybe you’ll be inspired to beat them to it. Or, if you see someone lifting that weight you THINK you’re ready for but never had a reason to try, you might just ask yourself to give it a go. When you work out with someone or as part of a community, you’re more likely to work harder and push yourself for longer. That’s a win in our books.
